Post subject: Thanks For Outboard Repair
Archived from groups: can>rec>boating (more info?)

Hi all,

I wanted to take time to publicly thank Sharbot Lake Marina (RT 38
Sharbot Lake, ONT) for fixing my outboard in timely and professional
manner.

Most people only mention a place when they have a problem with them. I
am making an exception.

I was in Ontario for two weeks vacation from July 11-25, 2004. On
Wednesday evening my outboard blew the gasket between the power head
and lower unit. This was not good and looked like my remaining week
and a half of vacation would be without a boat. Not good since we
where staying on Bobs lake. A pretty good sized lake and all we do is
fish, fish and fish some more. And I had no other boat to use.

On Thursday morning I drove to the marina to see how long it would
take to fix my outboard. I thought weeks. Everywhere back home during
the summer you would be lucky to get your boat back in 4 weeks in the
summer. But I was desperate. I talk to the owner (sorry don't think I
got his name) and told him my dilemma. About being from the states up
for only another week and a half. He took me to look another boat he
had in for repair asked me if the outboard looked like mine I said yes
that is it. He said that parts would take a day to come and he would
need a day to fix it. I was very happy.

I then drove back to the lake got my boat out. Took it to the marina.
And long story short had my boat back at 8:00 am Saturday morning
ready to go. It ran flawlessly the rest of my vacation.

Thank you, very much, Sharbot Lake Marina.

PS Thank you Sharbot Lake Service Center for fixing the fuel pump, in
one day, on my blazer that went bad the following week. But that is
another story. Needless to say I contributed to the Sharbot Lake
economy more so this year than any other.
