Archived from groups: can>rec>boating (more info?)

Hi everyone. Don't see too many for sale signs in here, but thought I'd try
anyway. If there is a better place for this type of mail, please send me the
newsgroup; I'd appreciate it.

I have an early 70's Evinrude Sportster 25HP for sale. Unfortunately the
powerhead is seized, but the motor has an extended (6") drive skeg. It came
off a very deep tri-hull style boat and was required to get good water flow.
Lots of good parts left on the motor, of course, but the extended shaft is
what I hope people will pick up on. Maybe you need one for your pontoon boat
or some other special need. Still have the fuel tank for it also.

And, in the reverse, I have an early 70's Mercury 4HP, that runs like a
charm, but the bottom end failed. Good sailboat motor after replacement of
the lower unit. I no longer have the boat that it used to power, so it's
just taking up space.

In the Ottawa/Perth Ontario area. I could meet you half way from wherever
you are coming from locally.

Price is negotiable.

Please use my email address for replies. Thanks.

Ads are not appropriate in this newsgroup. Use groups with the words
"forsale" or similar (your news software should be able to do a search).
Most newsgroups do not allow ads - if they do they will say so in
their FAQ (search subject lines for this word).
For help with newsgroups see boating.ncf.ca/newsgroups2.html - a few
groups from this page:
* rec.boats.marketplace (Moderated*) - worldwide boats and gear
* can.forsale - Canada
* can.atlantic.forsale - eastern provinces
* nb.forsale - New Brunswick
* ont.forsale - Ontario

Thanks Pat!

That's the kind of sites I need to see.
Again, thanks everyone for the help over this summer with questions I have
posed...I think that is the proper way to use this newsgroup. See, I needed
info, and I got it!

Brews

PS: already hooked up with one guy at ott.rec.sailing for the small motor;
found that site last night

Yes, you can post here items for sale, just put a FS in front of the subject
or WTB. Not a problem.

Sorry, that IS a problem. This is one of the best groups on the net
because our signal to noise ratio is pretty good. The reason is that
most people honour the FAQ that is posted here once a month ( Capt. -
just search for "can.rec.boating FAQ and charter" August 30).
